About Cosmos

Cosmos is where millions come to discover, collect, and share the most beautiful things on the internet.

We're building the future of image search. We believe artists deserve credit, images deserve context, and the people who find them deserve to know where they came from.

Millions of people use Cosmos every day, including the creative teams at Apple, Nike, A24, MoMA, Loewe, Aesop, and Spotify.

The role...

We're looking for a Talent & Ops lead to own the day-to-day people and operations function at Cosmos in New York City. You'll inherit recruiting, onboarding, tooling, and financial ops systems that already work, and be responsible for running them well, making them sharper, and building what's missing as we scale.

This is a high-trust role for someone who can hold competing priorities without dropping the ball, partner closely with our CEO, and make the small operational calls that keep a fast-moving company from breaking as it grows.

What you'll do:

  • Run full-cycle recruiting for roles across NYC and Warsaw, from sourcing through offer. Partner with hiring managers to write JDs, build interview loops, and make sure candidates have a great experience start to finish.

  • Own onboarding and offboarding for all employees and contractors across geographies, including new hire paperwork, equipment, tooling access, and first-week ramp.

  • Support mid-year and end-of-year performance review cycles, partnering with the CEO on logistics, calibration, and follow-through.

  • Make sure every team member has the tooling they need to do their job. Evaluate, procure, and manage our software stack.

  • Negotiate vendor contracts and manage renewals across our software stack and service providers.

  • Spot broken processes and fix them. Improve the systems we've built, replace what no longer fits our scale, and document what's missing.

  • Own light financial ops: tracking spend against budget, partnering with our Executive Assistant on financial workflows, and working with our external accounting team on compliance, payroll inputs, and month-end close.

  • Partner with our Executive Assistant on planning our annual offsite, including venue, travel, programming, and budget.

What we're looking for:

  • 3-7 years of experience, likely starting with 1-2 years in investment banking, consulting, or a structured sales or ops role, followed by time at an early-stage or high-growth startup.

  • Strong academic background and a track record of being trusted with high-stakes, ambiguous work early in your career.

  • Proven ability to balance competing priorities without dropping the ball. You can hold five threads at once and know which one matters most this hour.

  • Strong written communication and judgment. Much of this job is candidate-facing and team-facing, and tone matters.

This role is right for you if…

  • You're genuinely excited about operations as a craft. You don't need prior recruiting or people ops experience, but you understand how those functions work and want to own them.

  • You love working with AI and using it to build better systems. You're already using AI tools to move faster in your current role and have opinions about where they help and where they don't.

  • You have a bias toward action and a high tolerance for ambiguity. You can manage existing processes and improve them in the same week.

  • You're the person who can't help but improve a system that already works.

Benefits & perks:

  • Premium health, dental, and vision

  • 20 days PTO, plus company holidays, plus a 2-week winter break

  • Top-spec MacBook Pro, Apple Studio Display

  • Monthly stipend for software and tools

  • Monthly team events

  • Fully covered commute in NYC

  • Daily lunch & dinner stipend at the office

  • Optional Superpower membership
